Nichod is a browser extension that helps you understand YouTube videos and web pages by generating AI summaries and answering questions about that content. This page explains what data Nichod handles and how.
Nichod does not collect your name, email address, browsing history, or any data from pages where you have not actively opened or activated it.
When you open Nichod on a video or page, the transcript/page text and your questions are sent to Nichod's own backend server, which forwards them to Google's Gemini API solely to generate a summary or answer. This data is used only to produce the response shown to you in that moment — it is not stored, logged, sold, or used to build a profile of you.
Nichod's backend runs on Vercel, and AI processing is performed by Google's Gemini API. Both only receive the specific content needed to answer your request (the video/page text and your question), and only while you are actively using Nichod.
If you use the microphone button, speech-to-text is performed by your browser (Chrome's built-in Web Speech API), not by Nichod directly.
Questions about this policy can be sent to the developer via the contact information listed on Nichod's Chrome Web Store listing.
